APRIL 2001

Spring is here, so they tell us ! So Easter Sunday Afternoon, April 15th we are holding a family treasure hunt, leaving the village hall at 3.00p.m, entrance of 25p per child. You will need a pen, wellies or similar & a carrier bag. If, it decides to rain we will postpone until Monday afternoon. Prize for all children entered.

You may have noticed that work has started on the new play area at the back of the village hall. It is hoped weather permitting to be completed during April. The equipment is aimed at the under 12’s please ask your children to consider the smaller & future children of the village when playing on the equipment ( after all £ 5,500 was not easy to raise)

Memorabilia Weekend

Memorabilia Weekend – The History Group would like to ask all residents old & new if they would be willing to loan their Documents, Photo’s etc for this event. Wedding photo’s especially those pre-1960, school class groups, any year even those of people now in their teens. Does anyone have photograph’s of VE Day, Any Coronation Day, Silver Jubilee, Men working in field’s etc, Brick Pits ANYTHING relating to the Village also on view will be the pictures taken at New Year 2000.
EXTRA SPECIAL care will be taken over these items, and people will be asked not to touch them. So come along and see if you, Mum, Dad, Grandparents, or the person who used to live in your house are among the pictures and Documents, and maybe find out some information you never knew.

On a separate note, I / We need help is delivering these newsletters, so anyone who would deliver just a handful to neighbours would be great, even if you are just walking the dog & can take 6 – 10 a month. After all the weather is getting better and people are moaning that they aren’t getting a copy early enough in the month. Tel: 363405 or tell a committee member
