St. Valentines Day is Wednesday, 14th February, so just a
reminder to all you Gentlemen !
As some of you will have read the Village Hall has received confirmation that
we are too receive a grant of approx.: £ 2,500 towards some new play equipment
for the field at the back of the village hall, this money along with money left
over from the Millennium Party should give us enough to be able to put up swings,
slide and climbing apparatus. A big thanks to those on the Millennium committee
last year for their hard work.

The Maddison family have ask that a thank you be made to Mrs Nicola Pike, Mrs
Paula Vessey, Mrs Joyce Marshall, Mrs Bet Wallis & Mrs Joan Clark for their
help at the funeral of Charlie Maddison who sadly passed away last month,
Playgroup
After many years of wonderful hard work Sandra Willerton has decided to call
it a day with playgroup. This leaves us with a problem. If anyone is willing
to offer their services to run playgroup for a small wage, would they please
call at the village hall on Monday or Tuesday morning or Tel: 363405 to discuss
it. If no one is willing to take on the role, Playgroup will CLOSE.
Some of the Mums have offered to help out on a rota system but we need
someone with the time and dedication that Sandra has had over the past 15years.

Ceilidh Saturday,
17th February 7.30p.m till late.
So get on your cowboy boots for evening and join the areas best Ceilidh
/ barn dance band the Silver Birch Band. Tickets are £ 3.50 in advance or £
4.00 on the door; they are available from The Cross Keys or any member of the
Village hall committee see posters around the village.

Keys are holding a quiz every Sunday Evening at 9.00p.m, it not very competitive,
its reasonable easy and has an accumulator jackpot 50p per person, teams
of 1 10.

Country March for Liberty & Livelihood Sunday

We are marching to demands that Parliament defend the right of rural people
to live our lives responsibly in the way we choose, to protect rural people
from prejudice, particularly against all country sport including the hunting
with dogs & address the real problems of the countryside that are destroying
our communities, our culture and our childrens future.
