Fulstow Newsletter June 2001

With sports week endings on the 2nd, we haven’t got the full gory details of the weeks events, in time for printing this month’s newsletter Sorry. A big thank you goes to Janet & Pete Cass for organising the week along with all the others that helped, entered & supported.

Football what can we say except CONGRATULATIONS, BRILLIANT after 73 years to win the league, well done lads.

Due to funds needed desperately for the village hall, we are trying to organise at least one event every month, so if you want to keep the best facilities in the area going, please please lets have as much community support as possible. If you have never been to an evening at the hall come along bring your friends. After all we are one of only a few Halls that are Self funding in the area and would like to stay that way, and where else can you hire a hall for £ 3.50 hour or £ 45.00 for an evening with Bar facilities

Play Area As most of you will have noticed the new play equipment has been removed. this is due to the main beam of the "A" Frame being faulty. The company who supplied the equipment has taken it away for testing and hopefully we will have something new for next month.

Cricket, although only a friendly, the team beat Grimoldby in their 1st game, WELL DONE

Thursday night League - Louth and District Cricket League - and it is against Grimoldby. Our first Cup game is on the 5th June. The season finishes on the 19th July assuming all fixtures go according to plan, and there are 6 teams in the League viz. Fulstow, Legbourne, Louth Taverners, Unison (the ELDC Manby team), North Somercotes, and Grimoldby. It promises to be an exciting season with a lot of laughs and we have the nucleus of a good side with a mixture of youthful athleticism and middle-aged guile. We would welcome support and interest from new players - contact Will Thornes on 363647 or Bob Laking on 363682.

Summer Holidays Club for the Kids

Some of the mums are already panicking about the "I’m BORED" syndrome of the holidays, & have express an interest in helping out with a potential club for the holidays. (It will not be a DUMP kids clubs). It hoped that either 2 or 3 afternoons a week, with enough people to help on a rota system, we can get it off the ground. So we need you to donate you time for an afternoon, also people to lend a hand with drama, sports, activity’s etc. If the idea gets off the ground it is hoped that an achievement day can be held the last Saturday of the Holidays where the children can display there work, hold a mini sports day & maybe with the right help put on a small performance Concluding with a family Disco in the evening. We do need volunteers, donations for paper crayons & paints. If interested please contact either Lisa on Tel: 363740 or Nick Tel 363405
