Fulstow Newsletter – March 2002

Last month it is with regret that we lost 2 of the village’s oldest & most respected residents Cyril Brown & Benny Chapman, our sympathy’s are with Benny’s family and all Cyril’s friends.

Queens Jubilee -  Not a lot of interest has been shown with regard to this as far as a celebration or kart race etc,

So unless anyone feels strongly about it, there will be no official celebration & just a family disco on June 3rd at the Hall.

Dog Lovers – Some of you are collecting your deposits, but the latest trend seems to be to throw the bags in the dykes ! Take it home & use your heads.

Village Hall – There has been a few requests for 18th Birthdays at the village hall, due to a resident complaining that a 15year old was relieved of their alcohol at a previous event, and informing the Police. NO 18th’s will be allowed in the Hall for the foreseeable future. This policy will also affect 21st, Wedding Anniversaries, etc, which will be monitored more stringently in future. The bar area is off limits to anyone under 18 & anyone found drinking or buying alcohol for juveniles will be asked to leave the hall and Barred, in future. Unfortunately, one incident has ruined it for the rest.

AGM The village Hall AGM will be on Monday, April 15th at 7.00pm Anyone is welcome to attend & new members for the committee would be nice. On this evening it has been suggested that after AGM proposals for a memorial to Cyril be put forward. Do come along & bring your ideas, so you can’t complain after the event ! Donations to a memorial collected at the Village Hall £ 357.00 plus some to come from the pub I’m told.

Valentines Ball – Who would have thought it, didn’t you all look wonderful. An excellent night great Band thanks to everyone who helped in anyway. Do we repeat it next year ?
