A Four-Year -Old's Christmas Truth Byrd Woodward

My cousin Butch told me yesterday On Christmas Eve when I'm in my bed
There
ain't any Santy Claus; Just before I fall asleep,
He laughed and said it's only Grandpa. I hear reindeer paws up on our house,
I know that ain't true because, Right where the roof is real steep!

If they wasn't magic, they'd fall off There wouldn't be oranges for me to
An' crash right by my window. Find in the toe of my sock.
An' Christmas Day when I got up, I'd No new dress for my birthday doll or
See a sleigh wrecked in the snow! Peppermints hard as a rock.

The star wouldn't be up on the tree, One more reason I'm goin' to be
No tiny Baby asleep. Tellin' 'Ol Santy thank you.
No Mary inblue with her Joseph, I just asked my own Mama and Pa,
No sheep herders with their sheep. And they both told me it's true!

( So there, Butch! )

Christmas is the hardest time for family's who have lost a loved one during the year or have someone they love suffering, so spare a thought & prayer for all those around us who will find it hard the Christmas. In our own community, Ann Richardson for Tommy, Peter, Lisa & children for Jan, Byron for Marjorie, and for my family for my Nana, Tim's Dad Roger & and that my Dad Ron will make it through.

Last but not least Weather Lore

“If New Year's Eve night-wind blows south

It betokenth warmth and growth;

If west, much milk, and fish in the sea;

If north, cold and storms there will be;

If east, the tree will bear much fruit;

If north-east, flee it, man and brute!”
