FULSTOW NEWS January 2005

I don't think any of us who were sat at home on Boxing Day morning can have any idea of the horror that had just happened in Asia, many of you have travelled to these parts of the world and seen the how so many of these community's live on the shore lines and the poverty of some regions prior to the tsunami, but could any of us imagine Fulstow, Marshchapel, North Cotes, Grainthorpe, Tetney, Somercotes and many of the other villages & villagers gone under a huge wave, no and we would have been a very very small percentage. I know that there have been other disasters such as the Cyclone in Bangladesh , but every day this death toll rise's by 10,000 so this is how Fulstow & hopefully Covenham will contribute to the appeal.
TSUNAMI- Asia Disaster Concert – Can you and your friends sing, dance, tell jokes, play an instrument recite verse, everyone knows at least 1 poem. We would like as many people as possible to perform something, anything alone or as a group, it doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to even be good just get up there and do something Friday, 21 st January on stage at village hall. Why not try a family group Mum sing or mime, Dad playing air guitar, kids dancing, Granny & Granddad as backing singer's anything for about 3 -5 mins. A Sausage & Mash or Steak & Kidney Pie & Dessert Supper at 6.00pm followed by the show. £5.00 per adult, £3.00 per child. We need to know exactly how many to cater for so please book tickets ASAP ALL money will go toward the appeal Tickets 363405 or 363895 Can you also let us know if you are willing to perform something THANKS

We will also be collecting on the night medicines such as tablets and oral Paracetamol, Bandages, Sanitary Towels etc, Tubes of antiseptic cream, Water Purification Tablets, Plasters large FULSTOW Station Road will be closed to vehicular traffic for six weeks within the period from now until early March the reason – LCC will be carrying out Drainage Work
The Parish Council asks all householders to ensure shrubs & trees overhanging footpaths be cut to a height which would allow pedestrians (of all heights) to pass under safely. Next Parish Council Meeting to be held in the Village Hall at 7.30pm January 27 th
Bingo – The bingo players last year raised the staggering amount of £1,600 well done Bingo is every Monday 7.00pm in the Cross Keys restaurant go along and have a game
