Fulstow News February/March 2005 Sadly, Mrs Kath Marshall died this month and I think everyone would like to send their condolences to Stuart & Mike Marshall at this time. Tsunami - The concert we held in January had 4 rehearsal's, we fed 145 people, and a show of 18 acts raised a staggering £1,148.00 I would like to thank Mr. John Laking for his donation of ALL the meat that evening who without which you would have not had a supper for £5.00 and to EVERYONE who contributed in anyway for their support for the potato peelers to Elvis, to organise a show & feed that many people with only 9 days notice is a brilliant achievement. The money after a lot of suggestions as to which fund it should be donated too, went through Lloyd's bank appeal as they guarantee that 100% of the money goes to the appeal. Following the success of the evening many people asked if we would be doing a concert again, in short No, this was a one off and wouldn't work without an aim, BUT we have decide that we are to hold a “Stars in their Eyes” Fulstow Style evening, the audience will be the judges so we are looking for 10 acts purposed date will be 14th May so start practicing any age group, this will be a family evening. First Auditions will be March and the panel will be strict, although this is for a fun filled night. Valentine Ball – A big thank you to everyone that worked to help with this event, the evening is still as popular as ever, even if the bands on each night are not to everyone's taste. Next year we may change to another time of year such as Mid-Summers night or Bastille Day for a change let me know what you think, or have a disco & not a band or if you want to leave it alone. Both nights raised a wonderful £3,000 profit for the hall. Thank you As many of you know this is my baby but has it out grown itself ? CIRCUS BERZERCUS - Weds 9th March 6.30 pm "For the 2nd year running we are fortunate to have Circus Berzercus return to the Village Hall so expect a fantastically funny show, and a load of laughs!. Funny Business follows on from Circus Berzercus' hit show A Komedy of Erorrs , where GERALD the gentleman juggler first met up with WALLACE the circus trainee. Despite his misgivings Gerald has decided to take on the hapless Wallace as a permanent juggling partner. Has he made a mistake? Expect a show full of hilarious misunderstandings, a fantastic new illusion and a magical glow-in-the-dark section. This is a genuine family show, which will entrance all ages. These two performers are seriously ingenious and technically brilliant."
