Fulstow News

April 2006

24 years ago Fulstow gained two of our greatest assets in Keith & Val Davies when they took over the Post Office & shop. After over 16 years in the shop "Arkwright" & Val retired and became the “The Nutty Professors” during the spring & summer months. In the winter months Keith enjoyed his bowls and also channelled his exceptional talents as a key member with the Fulstow Players, where he was happy to be the star on stage or just doing whatever was necessary to make it happen.

When someone passes away as suddenly as Keith, it takes a while to adjust to the thought that they have gone.

The loss of Keith not only to his family to whom we express our deepest & heartfelt sympathy's will leave this village a poorer place.

He still had so much to give.

A service to celebrate Keith's life will be held on Tuesday 11 th 2.00pm at Fulstow St Lawrence Church followed by a service at Grimsby Crematorium

The fantastic cabaret duo Shoo Shoo Baby will be with us on Friday, April 28 th  with their hit show From Berlin to Broadway . Originally commissioned for performance in Berlin , this show recreates the smoky mood of the notorious Kit Kat Klub of the 1930s.  In addition to a stunning rendition of All That Jazz , the show also features songs from the hit musical Cabaret and numbers made famous by Marlene Dietrich such as Mack The Knife and Falling in Love Again .  Winding through the world of Cole Porter and his contemporaries, the show climaxes with a bit of table tap dancing from the audience and Shoo Shoo Baby's multi-lingual rendition of New York , New York .

The evening will be a perfect cabaret evening combining sophisticated musical theatre with a tasty and appetizing meal with choice of 2 main courses (+vegetarian option), + 2 sweets prepared by our talented village chefs and washed down with fine wines from our very own village wine merchant or real ale beers from our very own brewer. This will be a wickedly enjoyable evening! You won't be disappointed. Tickets £15p.p. from Bob Laking Tel 363682. Reservations essential
