VILLAGE NEWS
Following the recent bad weather, many residents in the village have suffered flooding and our sympathies go out to them and also to the local farmers who have lost crops in this way.
Lunch In aid of Louth & District Hospice
Raised £251.00
JUNE BALL
Guests were greeted with champagne cocktails and canapés on arrival, followed by a splendid meal.
Cabaret and a live band kept everyone ‘bopping’ until late and it was a great success thanks to a great deal of hard work and effort from all the people involved.
Everyone had a wonderful night and the function raised £775.00 for the school.
PARTY IN THE PARK
What a night!! The weather was kind for a change (the sun shines on the righteous).
The entertainment was excellent, those youngsters are so talented and The Bush Doctors lived up to their ‘internationally acclaimed’ tag.
Regardless of the queue at the bar, I should think there were a few sore heads on Sunday, but despite the worries over the state of the ground, it was a great success.
To all the people who helped set up, lent, cooked, served in the afternoon and at night, provided relief for the bbq staff and also cleared up after the event, we would like to say a big thank you.
You all helped to make the event the great triumph over the elements that it turned out to be.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to John Kettleborough the L.I.V.E.S. responder in the green jumpsuit (no he wasn't a strippergram). He doesn't get paid and gave up his evening to cover the party.
LIVES have to fund all their own equipment and the name cards sold on the night raised £80.00. John has bought a "Pulse Oximeter" (this monitors Pulse & Oxygen saturation levels within the blood stream) with this donation. L.I.V.E.S. responders can be very very important to our type of rural area, as we all know how long an ambulance can take. So a big thanks from him.
Several hundred pounds was made at the event, which has been shared between the Village Hall, School and Church. The bucket donations came to £103.00, which went to the church.
Well done Nigel you did a great job!!
OPEN GARDEN
Well if you thought those events were successful, what about the open garden at Mrs Margaret Macdonalds!!
The weather was kind again and people instead of water, flooded in. Margaret wants me to say a big thank you to all the people who helped and supported the event, which raised a staggering £1,478.00. That means Fulstow Church benefited to the tune of £700.00. Well done to Margaret and all her helpers.
SITUATION VACANT
A clerk to the governors is required for Fulstow School. This is a small part time post, which entails approximately 1 hours work per week, typing letters etc. Minute taking at the meetings (once a term) is also required. This is a paid position and anyone wishing to apply for the post should contact Simon Lewis on 363895.
Mrs Norman has now retired from the school and her replacement is Miss Williams who will be starting in September.
The school swimming pool has been broken into yet again. Why do they do it? There is nothing worth stealing in there!
