CROSS KEYS
As you all are probably aware, the pub is now closed, pending a new licensee.  I have tried to obtain information from Enterprise Inns regarding the future of the premises with no success.  We can only hope that our village will be without it’s hub for as little time as possible.
Meanwhile, the Village Hall bar will be open every Friday evening for anyone who feels like socialising and will also be open for regular BBQ evenings on every third Saturday evening.
Needless to say, as soon as the Cross Keys reopens for business, the temporary opening of the Village Hall bar on Fridays will immediately cease.  We have no desire to be in competition with the village pub.  Lets hope this is sooner than later and I will keep trying to obtain some information.
The next BBQ evening is Saturday 14th July and will continue every third Saturday for the summer months.

OPEN GARDENS
I went and what a wonderful turnout.  The gardens were spectacular, I never knew that “green fingers” were so abundant in Fulstow.  Every one was different, from the immaculate flowers and lawns of Kingfisher Lodge, to the expanse and variety of the Coullings garden, the trains and the garden of Pete Clark and the superb vegetable garden at Terry Nurrish’s.
Well done to all who organised this event, especially Sue & Roger Newborough who feed me all my information.
The organisers would like to thank all those people who opened their gardens, donated items for the various stalls or helped out in any way to make this a most successful event. Thanks must also go to the many visitors who were most generous in their support of the event. A grand total of £1334.20 was raised for the various village causes.

The raffle prizes were won by the following:-

1st prize – a £30 garden voucher – Brenda Smith
2nd prize – a £20 garden voucher – Audrey Foster
3rd prize – a £10 garden voucher – Paul Carlbom

RACE FOR LIFE
Thanks to all who turned out to be blown away

Anyone who sponsored someone to walk or offered a donation
could they get it to Nicky ASAP please

Maybe next year more of the village will participate.

Over £260 raised so far

CANCELLATION
Unfortunately the Thorganbury event on June 28th was cancelled at the last minute due to the threat of a mass influx of unwanted ‘ravers’ invited through an entry on facebook.  This was obviously a serious safety issue and after discussion with the police and event organisers it was decided to abandon the party.  I have received a rather illiterate e mail apology from the person who placed the entry on face book, comparing the entry on that site to the advertisement of the event in previous Fulstow newsletters.  Now I know this newsletter is ‘widely read’ but even if I wanted to, I don’t think I could claim that the publicity of this newsletter gets anywhere near ‘facebook’ proportions!!
Our sympathy goes to Richard and everyone who worked so hard to organise the event.
Roll on next years “Party in the Park”.

Considering the lack of news during the summer months and the fact that a lot of people are on holiday, there will be no newsletter in August.  I will have a month off and resume in September.

Enjoy the summer.
