Fulstow Village Hall Committee AGM 2006

Meeting opened at 7.30pm

by Mr. M Carpenter.

Chairman's Report : The chairman Mr.Terry Nurrish started by saying what a great year the hall has had with fund raising events and for the amount of help that has been given free by committee and non-committee members alike. Without the constant support of people outside of the committee a lot of events would not happen and the following non- committee members where thanked by name for their time & effort throughout the year. Mrs P French, Mrs P Vessey, Miss Ann Richardson & Mrs E Butt, Mr F Butt, Mrs S Dowse, Mr P Mann, Mr K Davies & Mrs V Davies, also the ladies of school children who come in when the children are on stage , these people just turn up at every event, they clean toilets, cook, serve, set up tables anything they can, and without them these events would NOT happen – Thank you. Mr & Mrs R Laking and Mrs. B Nurrish were also thanked for the continued help with the touring theatre, which this year has been a tremendous success.

Mr Danny Malone was also thanked for his help on historical facts and 110% support of Mrs Nicola Pike on the building and erecting of the Fulstow War Memorial in November.

Mr Frank Bradbury for continuing as vice chairman, his constant support of the chairman and for always being there.

Mr John Laking for his help and support through the year and for supplying food & helping in the kitchen sometime at short notice.

Mr Peter Munnings & wife Thora, for the annual bridge day a terminate fund raiser, and Peter who always turns up to help with chairs table and anything we throw at him.

Mr Richard Askam - For his brilliant help with the children's shows and bringing his band to play for free at the party in the park (Fulstock) last August.

Mr Keith Dowse -for his continued work and the music & sound for the children's shows and for being called out at very short notice for touring theatres.

Mr Nigel French & Mr Martin Carpenter – Always on hand, always supportive, slawarts of the village hall committee.

Mrs Ailsa Lewis – For taking and typing the minutes, for the help with children's disco's and parties and her help in the kitchen.

Mr Nigel Larder : For his bingo and auction, that again this year had raised great amounts for the hall, and also for his help in a new role as kitchen staff at the Memorial lunch. His help with the football and pool team that use the hall.

Miss Karen Nurrish – For the 200 Club, a thankless job nobody wants, but mainly for her work with the bar which really is a thankless task and takes up many hours.

Mr Tony Vessey – For his constant support at any event held, his brilliant ability with forms and applications for grants, tireless work getting the extension of the hall completed.

Mrs Nicola Pike – For her work for the hall, fund raising idea, writing the newsletter each month and sometimes having it out on time! But this year for the Fulstow War Memorial, which became an international story and put Fulstow firmly on the map and a real community. The Memorial is now is place outside the village hall.

Treasurers Report: Mrs Mumby told the meeting that the funds were higher than last year and bar takings up. The hall is in a very good state of affairs due to the amount of fund raising throughout the year.

Secretary's report: Mrs Pike said that in the last 12 months the hall had been very busy with bookings and better than in previous years. She also thanked everyone for their support of her with the War memorial and reiterated thanks to Danny Malone. Also, she thanked everyone for putting up with her!

Election of Committee Members : All members in the room agreed to stay on the committee and they all proposed and seconded each other……..

Election of Committee Post

Chair: Mr Nurrish was proposed to stay as chairman by Mr Nigel Larder seconded by Mr J Laking.

Vice Chair: Mr Bradbury was proposed by Mr T Vessey and seconded by Mr M Carpenter.

Treasurer. Miss K Nurrish proposed that Mrs Mumby be re-elected seconded by Mr N French.

Secretary Mrs Lewis proposed Mrs Pike continue and this was seconded by Mr P Munnings.

Election of new committee member : Mr R Laking was proposed by Mr T Nurrish and seconded by Mr P Munnings. Mr P Mann was proposed by Mr K Dowse and seconded by Mr R Askam. The chairman welcomed them both onto the committee and hoped that they fully realised what they had committed themselves too!

Mrs Vessey addressed the committee to ask if the sink which was purchased in October could be installed soon please as the sink at present is causing problems.

Mrs Vessey also asked the committee that if anyone could help with the open gardens on June 10 th please come along. Also, she had been approach to have a “Tea Party” in aid of Louth Hospice again this year, but unfortunatly she will be away on holiday. Mrs Pike offered to organise the day.

Mrs Vessey also asked if it was possible to organise another village cricket match at the pitch serving light lunches, the chairman agreed and asked if anyone was will to organise this it would be a great idea.

Mr Nigel Larder addressed the room and thanked Mr Terry Nurrish for his hard work as chairman through the year and although Mr Nurrish had stated what a truly wonderful committee the hall had that it takes a good chair to organise a good committee. His thanks to Mr Nurrish were agreed by the room.

 

The chairman thanked everyone for attending and the meeting closed at 8.00pm
